This position is responsible for the day to day monitoring of safety initiatives and concerns.
The schedule is primarily week days with occasional weekend responses and rolling on-call responsibility with management team.
Essential Job Functions:
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.
Communicate with customer Safety Supervisors, EH&S Coordinators, etc.
on-site or in office settings to obtain necessary safety information and maintain relationships.
Conduct and coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
Complete new hire orientation and all necessary new hire safety training, as well as continued safety training of all field personnel as required.
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards to ensure safety regulation compliance.
Responsible for the Company Safety Committees we having in place.
Follow State mandated requirements for these Safety Committees in order to maintain our discounts on Workers Compensation Insurance premiums.
Investigate all accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine cause, install preventive measures going forward, and help to manage return-to-work activities.
Complete all active and potential jobsite safety analyses.
Develop, implement and modify safety programs, policies and procedures as needed.
Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long term strategic safety planning and development.
Track and maintain all safety training deadlines for all company personnel.
Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management or related field.
Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Hazwoper Certification CPR/First Aid Certification Safe Driving Certification 30 hour OSHA Certification Minimum Requirements may change as Management sees fit.
