Summary:
The Production Assistant will primarily focus on data entry into our ERP system regarding customer jobs along with the organization of all documentation related to the jobs using appropriate naming conventions identified by the Company.
This position plays a strong role in timely coordinating and communicating of job needs information with the appropriate departments between the LaPorte and Harmony plants.
This position will have to gain a strong understanding of the production process, plant procedures, equipment capabilities, flow of supplies and materials within the facility using the ERP system.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Printing, organizing, filing, and distribution of documents related to production activities.
(Job packets, drawings, travelers, routings, etc.
) Data entry of scheduling and shipping of products into the ERP system.
Distribution and gathering of production related documents and information to and from the manufacturing floor.
Scanning and electronic storage of documents related to production activities.
Organization and filing of documents to ensure accurate identification and recovery.
Printing and distribution of daily reports related to jobs.
Review of production related documents for inconsistencies and errors.
Presents a positive demeanor when answering calls and addressing needs with both internal (departments) and external customers.
Participates in cross-functional activities to achieve organizational objectives.

Effectively communicate daily with the Plant Manager, Logistics, and assist Purchasing to ensure plant supplies and materials are current regarding customer needs.
All other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/
Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of administrative assistant or similar role work experience in manufacturing environment.
Minimum 1-3 years' manufacturing and inventory control work experience.
ERP system experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
Safety and ISO 9001 QMS experience is a plus but not required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Exceptional data entry skills demonstrating high degree of speed and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.
) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Proficient in printing, filing, and organizing of documents, i.
e.
, Bills of Material, Routings, Finished Goods inventory, Raw Material requests.
Proficient in scanning and electronic storage/transmission of documents.
Ability to multi-task, balance and prioritize daily tasks.
Ability to review documents for inconsistencies and errors before delivery.
Ability to work effectively in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:
To perform the duties of the position you must be able to walk short and long distances; stand on feet for extended periods of time; work at a desk seated, or bending at a filing cabinet, turning in a chair, use of hands to type, write, file paperwork and hold phone, be able to lift and transfer up to 40 lbs.
